Last Nov I subscribed to a Mio voice plan. However I have been having problems since. I have made numerous calls to the singnet helpdesk complaining that the internet speed is not satisfactory.
The officers were very helpful. they taught me to do speedtests. So far they have taught me to use
    ftp
    http://www.speedtest.com
    http://www.speedtest.net
    speedtest on your website
They have also sent technicians to my house. So far they have come 10 times!!!!
    1 14/3/09 they change wiring
    2 26/3/09 they change modem
3 can’t remember date, something at “switchboard” changed
4 7/4/09 removed “extra” wiring running into house
    5 23/4/09 change more wiring
6 26/5/09 change socket due to “error”
7 21/6/09 did some changes on Miovoice Services???
    8 30/6/09 changed modem
9 6/8/09 modem vendor changed modem
    10 3/9/09 changed modem

Each time the technician tested and said the speed was satisfactory. But after they leave it usually deteriorate. About ~50% of the time it is 10meg or. But ~40% of the time it is about 5 to 6 meg. ~10% of the time it is 2 meg or even less.

Another problem is the modem resets itself sometimes causing my current downloads to fail. This is especially bad after the 7/4/09 visit.

They just changed the modem yesterday and today I can hardly surf wirelessly. Our family have resorted to using LAN cords.

I feel very unhappy with the state of affairs as I paid for a 10meg subscription. In fact I seemed to have less problem when I subscribed to Starhub’s broadband for many years prior to switching to Singnet.

I decided that I would like to terminate my plan with Singnet/singtel. However I would have to pay penalty fees. Would it not be that Singnet has breached the contract by not supply me the agreed service I have paid for?

Does this not reflect badly on Singapore as the “leading” Telecom provider?

With more competition coming in the area of high speed internet providers, I think it will not be good for Singtel/Singnet if consumers are shortchanged like this.

Their officers are helpful but they just do something because they are expected to do something and then write a report. But it did not solve my problem long term. When I call the helpdesk, they send a technician down when they cannot solve the problem But when the technicians come down they refer me back to the helpdesk saying they cannot solve the problem either except for changing the modem

I am thinking that it might be good to go to the media and ask them to do a comparison study on different internet providers in Singapore so that consumers can be more educated. Please refer to Mr Chua Hian Hou’s article “High-end broadband to be cheaper” on 14/04/09. He might be a good person to contact. Otherwise who knows how many consumers are shortchanged like me?

Please bring my complaint to the attention of anyone who can help me. I want my problem solved because I paid for the service!

My son says his friends also complain about the Mio plan but these are all heresay. I don’t know where to complain and how to get redress. It seems unfair that I have to be penalise when I am not the one who breach the agreement.

    Help! Anyone?

Fairly disappointed with the service provided by Prime. Went to buy packet of chicken wings at Prime thinking that it was at the discounted price based on the tag on top of the cooler. When I went to the cashier then was realised that it was not. When I check with the cashier that the price shown was different but without any checking, the cashier just answered that ‘you see wrongly’. When I went back then I realised that the tag was out dated but they never take away the tag. When I went back to the cashier and query her then she just said that alot of people has encounter the same problem and it is not their problem as they are just a cashier. No action was taken from them. Being just a big supermarket is it this kind of service they should provide. This is the 2nd time I encounter this problem. I should really consider buying things from Prime Supermarket again.
